I recently purchased the ACCL and am having fun working with an Arduino Due. I am planning to use either a DAC or PWM to provide a signal to a VU meter.  In the documentation and LabVIEW help it is noted that the Due has 12 bit resolution for both the ADC and DAC functions.  There are additional configuration VIs to set the resolution in the Due for Analog Write and Analog Read.  These do seem to make changes to the effective value at a specific bit value so they have the appearance of working correctly.

The issue I am having is that the Analog Write VI provided in the palette only accepts 8 bit values.  I have not tried the Analog Read VI but I assume it may have the same resolution issue and the Analog Write VI.

Is there a modification planned or a separate VI available that will allow the full 12 bits access to the Due?

Thanks,

Troy I.

Hi Troy,

Thank you for pointing that out.  Yes, the Analog Write VI should have been a U16 to support the Due in high resolution mode.  I have assigned Case 103 for this issue.  It will be fixed in the next release.  We are planning for a release 1st or 2nd week of June.  Please make sure you have registered your product and you should receive an automatic notification when the update is available.  In the meantime hopefully you can use it in 8-bit mode for the time being.

Thanks,

Steffan

Thanks Steffan,

I appreciate the quick reply, on a weekend no less.  I am really excited to work with the compiler and see what fun things I can develop with the Arduino platform.

Thanks,

Troy I.
