I need to run the compiler on my laptop but it does not detect any serial ports.

In the Device Manager I can see a Com1 and the Arduino Uno on Com4 but the compiler does not detect ANY serial ports.

The Tools-Port option is grayed out and Detect Ports does nothing.

Can you make sure the NI VISA driver is installed on that machine? The compiler uses NI VISA for serial communication and if that is not installed, it won't see the serial ports.

Cheers
