I keep getting a compilation error “Arduino function Process Calculation not supported” and “Arduino function Control Output not supported”. “Process Calculation” and “Control Output” are two of the subvis I use on the main VI that is compiled. Why am I getting errors on those subvis specifically? I have three other subvis in the application, but the compiler doesn’t seem to bark at them.

Hi Connor;

Are “Process Calculation” and “Control Output” password protected by any chance?

Cheers
Filipe

Hi Filipe,

As a matter of fact, they are. Is that what is causing the compilation error?

Ah; yes, that is exactly what is happening. Remove the password protection for those subVIs and try your top level VI compilation one more time.

Cheers

Ok, that worked. Why does the compiler impose such limitation?

The compiler uses password protection as a way to identify API VIs. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to password protect your subVIs.

Are there plans to support password protection in the future?

In fact, we have considered that for the current release, but elected to not go that route as it would add significant delays on the product release. We are certainly compiling as list of features/must haves based on community feedback and will prioritize the ones most asked to include on future releases of the compiler.

Cheers
Filipe
